Global Citizenship - Marine Environment 

September 2025
We are beginning to work towards our 8^th Green Flag - Global Citizenship: Marine Environments.

-        New committee members were chosen in the Junior Campus.
 
October 2025  

-        4^th Class took part in a Water Safety Workshop.

                        

November 2025
-        Classes took part in the 'Every Sea Tells a Story' poster competition run by An Taisce. 
-        2nd Class began working on the SeaKeepers Project.
-        Ms. McDonalds 5th Class spent the month of November learning all about Marine Life.
-        All classes from 1st - 6th Class engaged with the Marine Litter Awareness Survey.

                 

January 2026
-        Classes took part in the 'Water and Me' poster competition run by An Taisce.

                 

May 2026
-         Junior Infants explored the theme of 'Under the Sea' and made some clay fish.
-         2nd Class completed the SeaKeeper's Project.
-         Senior Classes took part in the 'Fintastic Sharks and Where to find them' and 'Microscopic Marvels to Ocean Giants' Webinars.
-         Junior Committee met to discuss a plan for World Ocean Week.

       

-         Junior School took part in World Ocean Week. We had a colouring competition with all our favourite sea creatures.
-         5th Class took part in the 'Something's Fishy' Workshop with Inland Fisheries Ireland. 

             

-        Junior Campus Committee welcomed judges from the IVERK Show to our school to judge the school grounds and garden. 
          We were lucky enough to win 1st prize in the upcycling category.
