The Board of Management of Scoil Mhuire NS wishes to inform you that the annual review of the school's Child Safeguarding Statement was completed at the Board meeting of 1/02/2023 in accordance with the 'Checklist for Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement' published on the Department's website, www.education.ie.

The Board also completed the annual review of the school's anti-bullying policy and its implementation at this meeting, in accordance with the checklist set out in appendix 4 of the Department's Anti-Bullying Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools.

Scoil Mhuire NS is a co-educational, Catholic Primary School located in the village of Mooncoin.

We enroll boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12 and currently, in this school year 2022-2023 we cater for 279 children.

We adhere to the principles and aims of the Revised Curriculum and we hope that the education we provide is a good preparation for the children as they embrace the future while also providing them with knowledge understanding and appreciation of times past.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to Anti-Bullying.
We participate in Green Flag, Active Flag, Health and Creative Schools.

While Scoil Mhuire NS is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for and welcomes all other religions.   We welcome all children to our school, regardless of religion and we hope that the education they receive is reflective of virtues such as tolerance, friendship, honesty, compassion and courage which we strongly promote.

As a school, the education we provide is underpinned by a strong ethical and moral responsibility to the preparation of children for their lives ahead and the opportunities and challenges they will meet.
